In conclusion, the Syrian Arab Republic
is currently undergoing a major crisis. The civil war, transformed into an
ethnic war, which began in March 2011 as part of the Arab Spring, is shaking up
the country. The political power that has been in place for 40 years, the Bass
Party, has been challenged by the population, which reacts to the social
inequalities and economic problems facing the country. The Bass party has
indeed long favored the elites of the country, in relation with the state, to
the detriment of the well-being of the rest of the population. The result is a
revolutionary conflict that will further aggravate an already weak country. The
economy is dropping even more sharply as population poverty increases and
confrontation rages, causing losses and clashes in Syrian territory. The
conflict then integrates more important dimensions, with the emergence in the
conflict of religious extremists in the region, who first aid the Free Syrian
Army, then take the conflict to their account. Extremists take advantage of the
conflict to try to seize the country and spread their thinking within it.
Western forces and the Middle East are threatening to intervene in the country,
the first taking overall part to keep the regime in place to fight against the
takeover of extremists, the second is the reverse globally for revolutionaries.
This state of affairs makes Syria a territory battered by the conflict that
takes place and a place coveted by external forces. The country can hardly focus
these efforts on the development of its technology, while its place in the
international is weak. Likewise, his army is concentrated in the interior of
the country and suffered significant losses. Moreover, the diffusion of the
values and the culture of the country is almost
non-existent, and this in spite of the important character of the Syrian
diaspora. NGOs themselves seem to be controlled by outside forces. Syrian hard
and soft power are therefore very inefficient. The presence of possible seismic
risks is also added as an additional threat. The Syrian conflict thus upsets
the country, and only the future will bring answers as to the resolution or the
deterioration of the problems in this territory in crisis. Current facts
nevertheless reflect an alarming situation.
