The travel agency asks you for a supplement for a tour booked for several weeks

During the month preceding the departure of a package tour, the price cannot vary. On the other hand, when the departure is scheduled in more than a month, the agency may ask you for a price supplement if a clause in the contract provides for it (article L. 211-12 of the Tourism Code) and on the condition that the methods of calculating this revision are clearly defined (article R. 211-8 of the Tourism Code). If the price of the trip can increase, it must decrease when the price of fuel, exchange rates and taxes fall. Be aware of this, as your travel agent may forget to pass on these reductions.

Dear,

It is with surprise that I learn of the increase in the price of the trip that I have subscribed to with you.

(1st case) I am very surprised by this increase, because we are currently less than a month from the departure, scheduled for (date). Your request is therefore contrary to article L. 211-12 of the Tourism Code. Under these conditions, please note that I refuse this increase.

(2nd case) The increase of (…) euros for my trip does not correspond, unless I am mistaken, to the price revision conditions provided for in article (…) of my contract (explain how this calculation is incorrect ). So I would be grateful if you would reconsider your request.

Please accept, Madam, Sir, the expression of my best regards.
