Outings, Excursions, Outdoor Activities and Training
at Camp Life.
It is not possible, for these outings, to give precise programs. The detailed organization of these varied activities will be the responsibility of the teachers who will be in charge of them.
A key point will attract the attention of these masters : once the goal and exit the program clearly established, students will study them - even the preparations that will be developed in all their details. Thus will be developed in all the spirit of organization and method which is essential to men of action.
The experience already acquired in this matter by scouting can be widely used and, if possible, developed. For example, the organization of a camp will lead to the methodical study of the locations, the provision of food, water and fuel, first aid equipment, the schedule (with variations in the case of bad weather ), etc.
The intellectual teaching, history, geography, natural sciences, will often be vivified thanks to the observations made in common by the teachers and the pupils. The literature will be illustrated by theatrical performances which, in principle taking place outdoors, can be prepared indoors on bad weather days.
