قوة الجيش السوري العربي بالانجليزي

The Syrian army has 178,000 men in theory, 1,100,000 in land forces, 5,000 in the navy, 27,000 in the air force and 36,000 in air defense. Nevertheless, these figures are to be weighted since since the beginning of the conflict in 2011, the number has decreased sharply, even if it is not really quantifiable at present. The army, under the orders of the government of Bashar, owns equipment of Russian origin, and had before 2011 about 5000 tanks, a large arsenal of missiles in Aleppo, two frigates and 400 air combat aircraft. On the one hand, it can be seen that these figures have fallen with the internal war that the country is undergoing, forcing the government to use its army within its territory, and on the other hand that, even without counting on the regression of this army since 2011, it seems quite inadequate in view of Western armies. A Syrian general himself testified to the lack of Syrian reaction possibilities, especially in the case of interventions from countries in the Middle East or the West. The Syrian army, however, seeks to protect itself from external attacks, and rather than develop an attacking army, it tries to strengthen its defense to resist in the event of the arrival of Western forces in particular, but the capabilities are limited.
Syria has a low weight in international institutions, it is part of the UN but has no possibility of action and claim. That is why the permanent members of the United Nations consult without really consulting the members of the country, even on the conflict that is taking place in Syria itself. In the same way, the country is not necessarily well seen, since it is suspected of developing, without the knowledge of the international organizations, a nuclear program. This fact was revealed by traces of uranium on a bombed site in 2007 and on a research reactor in Damascus.
Syrian technology is also not well known: it is not a source of innovation, it is based in particular on Russian technology for its own creations. The country does not have its own technological strength, and is based on the outside world. The only major technological fact can be hacking by those who call themselves the "Syrian electronic army" of sites related to the US government, but again without any major repercussions.

To conclude on the Hard Power, Syria seems to have limited means in this area, which are not going to manage since March 2011. Its technology is undeveloped, its importance in international organizations unclear and its army does not. There are not many possibilities for action.
