You request communication of your medical file
of the Public Health Code grants you a right of direct access to your medical file. You can read it either directly or through a doctor. You must first send a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt to the professional of the healthcare establishment, asking them either to make your file available so that you or the doctor of your choice can consult it, or to send it. a copy (to you or your doctor).
Access to your file must be made possible for you within eight days of your request and at the earliest after a reflection period of forty-eight hours. If the medical information in question is more than five years old, the time limit is two months. The more specific your request, the easier it will be to process, and you will get a response faster.
Note: consultation of the file on site is free. If you have copies delivered or if the consultation is not done on site, only the reproduction and shipping costs may be claimed from you.
