Lawyers in the Washington office
Lawyers in the Washington office accompany and assist large corporations and key players in the business world in a variety of areas in the United States and around the world. Many of our lawyers have previously worked with government agencies that impact the business and interests of clients and thus bring their expertise to a variety of business, regulatory and investigative issues.
The Washington office offers a full range of services, nationally and globally, provided by more than 250 lawyers, specialists in their fields which include but are not limited to litigation, competition law, appeals proceedings, dispute resolution international litigation, regulatory law, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, regulation of financial institutions, cybersecurity, tax law and bankruptcy law.
In order to meet the global needs of our clients with interests in various parts of the world, our attorneys collaborate with other Firm offices around the world. Jones Day’s international reach and integrated technologies allow our lawyers to act effectively on behalf of clients across all offices and in all areas of practice.
Our lawyers are involved in many pro bono cases and other public service activities. They intervene in particular on questions of immigration, criminal law and the right to housing and are on duty in free legal advice branches. In 2018, the Washington office was named best pro bono firm of the year by the District of Columbia Bar.
Our office occupies a historic building in the city, the Acacia Building, which offers a spectacular view of the Capitol, as well as the adjoining building, an environmentally friendly contemporary construction by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Richard Rogers.
