One week in Southern Italy

In Campania

First 3 days in Naples
4th and 5th days: Herculaneum or Pompeii, two major archaeological sites around Vesuvius. Pompeii is larger, but Herculanum, better preserved, has a special charm.
6th day, one of the islands of Naples:
Capri if you like chic-frime
Ischia if you like thermal baths with healing properties
The tiny Procida for authenticity.
You can also spend a night on one of the islands and visit two!
Day 7: shuttle boat that allows you to sail to the small towns of the Amalfi Coast and admire its steep landscapes: Sorrento, Positano, Salerno, Amalfi ...

1st and 2nd days, Puglia
3rd day: Castel del Monte, Alberobello and Ostuni, Itria Valley (land of trulli)
4th day: Lecce, a city with a flourishing baroque appearance and the cape of Santa Maria di Leuca
5th day: walk along the coast to appreciate the view; swimming along the Salento; Taranto
6th and 7th days: at least one full day to travel and start to discover Matera in Basilicata, its troglodyte sassi and its rock churches; Maratea

Then a day trip or two to one of the three islands off Naples: Capri, Ischia or Procida.

Then direction Matera in Basilicata.
Push further west to visit the Itria Valley, the trulli, Alberobello and Locondo
Go down by Tarento to reach the beautiful Pollino Park, the largest national park in Italy
If you are beach and idleness, you will go lizard in a small cove of Maratea.
